Mandala Theatre-Nepal is hosting a workshop on Gender and Diversity Sensitive Work in Theatre from 7th -9th April 2020 at Kathmandu. After the successful completion of four series of such workshops to in-house artists and students and the request for such training from outside artists, Mandala Theatre-Nepal is openly announcing this workshop this time for all interested theatre artists or enthusiasts.

In an attempt to understand and respond to issues of discrimination and harassment through/in theatre, Mandala has started organizing the workshop since September 2019 and also formed a ‘Gender and Diversity Focal Committee’. Inviting professional counselors and experts to be in its’ panel, the committee includes 3 members; Karuna Kunwar, Rena Shrestha and Michael Thonhauser.

Karuna Kunwar and Rena Shrestha are professional psychologists and counselors also working actively in field of gender and diversity. Michael Thonhauser is a systemic counselor, theatre artist and working for GIZ-ZFD Nepal as a peace adviser. The committee works independently and provides support to theatre artists and students in issues related to gender and diversity. All the issues coming to committee will be kept confidential and will be handled sensitively.

We would like to invite interested theatre artists to fill up the registration form to secure a seat in the workshop. As we would be only able to accommodate maximum 17 participants in one season, we will give priority to the early registrations.
