At the backdrop of a long-fought battle by youths for strengthening the political and democratic system, the play Teen Transit (Three Transits) hovers around appraisals and questions about ‘what destiny they are faced to’ and ‘what should be their understanding to choose the next political leadership.’ Thus, the play is an artistic blend of youths’ aspirations, reflections, grievances, hopes and awareness. The play starts and ends in the three transits of an international airport and keeps on revolving around the dialogue among those who arrive in and depart from these transits. The play is fundamentally aimed at exploring an answer to how the political achievements made thus far can be guarded and how the existing problems could be addressed while also initiating a discourse around what youths’ presence in politics and constructive role should be like in view of the upcoming elections.
The play is a student production from Madnala’s regular theatre course Theatre Lab 9.
