Aadha Satya’ (Half Truth) is a drama performance based on stories shared by families of enforced disappeared people during ten-year long armed conflict in Nepal. The play aims to generate and understanding empathy towards the victims and their families. The script of the play had been developed on the basis of the stories collected and shared by the families. Two playwrights from Mandala, accompanied by NEFAD team, went to collect the stories from around the Kathmandu valley. They prepared the script, selected the artist and directed the play. The performance focuses particularly on the experiences of women from disappeared families. The play has been staged at Mandala Theatre on 30th August 2016 marking the International Day against Enforced Disappearance and later had been taken to a mobile theatre tour around conflict-affected communities.
The script of the play is also available as a book in Nepali and English language.
