Mandala Theatre-Nepal is a Kathmandu-based non-governmental theatre organization dedicated to the advancement of theatrical arts for social change, conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Established in 2008 by a group of young, enthusiastic, and diverse theatre artists, Mandala Theatre-Nepal emerged from years of individual training and involvement in the field, with a shared vision to work collaboratively and consistently.

The organization is committed to the production of innovative and creative works of art while exploring, popularizing, and preserving traditional and indigenous theatrical forms of Nepalese society. Mandala Theatre-Nepal is seeking to hire qualified human resources for the third edition of the Nepal International Theatre Festival (NITFEST) 2025 and other project activities scheduled for 2025 under the Civil Peace Service (CPS) Program, supported by GIZ Nepal.

1Festival Coordinator1
  • Proven experience coordinating or managing theatre festivals in Kathmandu.
  • Previous collaboration with Nepali theatre groups and artists, understanding local cultural contexts.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with artists, sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Budget management experience, including financial planning and reporting.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of theatre production (lighting, sound, staging).
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams, including volunteers and event staff.
  • Experience in marketing, PR, and audience engagement strategies, both online and offline.
  • Familiarity with international theatre networks and experience in artist liaison and hospitality.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to work under pressure during live events.

2Admin and Finance Officer1Job Description 

  • Work with Mandala’s Peace-Building Team in planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects through finance and management perspective.
  • Develop and follow a clear finance procedure for project implementation in Mandala in regard to GIZ-ZFD regulations.
  • Developing budgets, financial proposal and finance reports for projects.
  • Make a proper plan and ensure effective spending of the budget.
  • Document staff leave and similar administrative tasks.
  • Maintain the necessary TAX, TDS and ETDS of the transactions.
  • Keep all the financial transaction in the software (TALLY)
  • Provide support during the conduction of program activities, training, and meetings.
  • Establish and timely update the inventory records and conduct physical verification from time to time.
  • Annual Auditing, work for SWC project approval and request SWC and local level government for monitoring and evaluation and yearly renewal of organization (Mandala NGO).
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisors.

Skill, Qualification and Experience

Mandatory

  • Minimum of Bachelor´s Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Management, Public Administration or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in Development sector, NGO or any arts organization.
  • In-depth Knowledge of accounting process, office package in computer and Tally.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding and analytical time management and administrative skill.
  • Good team player, willingness to learn, share and work in a group of diverse members.

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of the financial procedure and process of the donors.
  • Training in relevant field (management, financial management, accounting) is preferable.
  • Understanding of SWC (Social Welfare Council) procedure.
  • Experience in handling funded projects is preferable.
  • Additional work experience with national and or international non-governmental organizations will be an added advantage.
  • Work experience with national or international art organization (theatre, music and film) will be added advantages.
  • Written and verbal communication in both English and Nepali is preferable.

3Finance Admin Assistant1Job description

  • Prepare vouchers, collect bills, and arrange the supporting documents in sequential / chronological order
  • Develop and follow a clear finance procedure for project implementation in Mandala in regard to GIZ-ZFD regulations.
  • Support in planning and implementation and ensure effective spending of the budget.
  • Liaison with GIZ (project office), banks, and other institutions.
  • Support in taking project approval letters from government organization.
  • Assist in administrative work for financial settlement of organizers/participants during/after NITFEST event.
  • Assist in reviewing and checking reports and documents/invoices submitted by vendors, consultants and other recipients/partners
  • Provide support in maintaining and updating the filing system and labeling/numbering of vouchers as per GIZ standard
  • Take over and carry out any additional tasks assigned by Supervisor

Skill, Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of +2 with three years of experience or Bachelor´s Degree in Business Administration or Business Studies with two years of experience in development sector (NGO) will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures, and knowledge of administrative and financial processes.
  • Familiar with accounting packages and professional working knowledge of tax/VAT in Nepal context
  • Knowledge of accounting, MS office (Word/Excel) in computer.
  • Good team player, willingness to learn, share and work in a group of diverse members.
  • Experience in documentation, good understanding with bills and vouchers.
  • Written and verbal communication in both English and Nepali is preferred.

4Senior Set Constructor1
  • Proven years of hands-on experience in theatrical set construction, including carpentry, welding, metalworking, and scenic painting.
  • Proven work on sets for multiple play genres with ability to adapt styles (realism, abstract, immersive).
  • Track record of leading construction teams, mentoring junior crew, and collaborating with directors, designers, and technicians to align sets with artistic vision.
  • Experience in fast-paced festival environments with rapid set turnovers, modular designs, and repurposing materials across multiple productions.
  • Certification or equivalent training in workshop safety, rigging protocols, and hazard management for complex builds and live performances.
  • Should have prior experience of working in national and international theatre festival.
  • Ability to troubleshoot design flaws, budget cuts, or last-minute changes during rehearsals/performances without compromising quality.
  • Skill in translating blueprints, CAD models, or rough sketches into functional sets, with attention to scale, sightlines, and actor movement. .

  • Experience working under senior constructors or designers, following blueprints, and contributing to team projects of different theatre groups.
  • Understanding of PPE (gloves, goggles) and safe tool operation.

B.    Play Production on Mental Health Awareness

D.    Drama School Documentary

  • Knowledge of film editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or other industry-standard tools to assist with post-production.
  • Prior experience directing and writing scripts for short documentaries (25-30 minutes), preferably focused on educational, artistic, or social themes.
  • Proven ability to conduct interviews, collect testimonials, and tell personal stories that align with the documentary’s purpose.
  • Experience with cinematography, lighting, and sound for documentary filmmaking to ensure high-quality production.
