Mandala Theatre-Nepal is preparing for its’ next production. Under the direction of Pradip Kumar Chaudhary, the play titled ‘Jhimke Mama’ has been in-process since the last week of December 2019.

Based on a real story told by advocate Durga Prasad Pandey, Chaudhary himself has penned the script of the play. Set in an imaginary village called Deurali, the play tells story of a well-entertained visitor of the village, whose identity is anonymous to the villager. According to the story, the nomadic visitor is staying in the same village from many years and has been supporting the villagers in their every ups-and-down. He is liked by everyone due to his friendly and supportive nature. However, as soon as his identity is revealed, the perspective of villagers towards him is totally changed.

‘Jhimke Mama’ features actors and actresses such as Ankeet Khadka, Anup Neupane ‘A J Bob’, Samyog Guragain, Sagar Khati Kami, Reeta Shrestha, Yunish Shrestha, Shusil Pande, Bikash Panta, Mahan Thapa, Usha Kiran Kafle, Rakshya Thapa, Kabya Baral, Arvind Amatya and Krizan Mahat on stage.

Pradip Kumar Chaudhary has already directed two plays for Mandala. His earlier direction credits to theatre are Masaantaar and Kalapattharmathi.

The play ‘Jhimke Mama’ has been scheduled to be staged at Mandala Theatre, Anamnagar from first week of February 2020.
