Raiti is a play based on an imaginary place called Raitigaun, but it highlights a real issue in Nepali society. This play, in the style of folklore, weaves a narrative around the struggles in an imaginary village afflicted by the curse of not being able to bear daughters and the story of a mother forced to leave her home for not bearing a son.
“Raiti” is a family drama that reveals the importance of women in managing the cycle of daily life within the family or society.
